 How old does my child have to be to play football?

The player must turn 5 before he/she can be registered with Football Queensland. This ruling has changed from previous years and is a Football Queensland rule and not a Townsville Football rule. All 5 year olds will play in the Under 6 competition.

 My child turns 7 in December what age group is he/she in?

What ever age your child turns in that calendar year, that is the correct age group for them. In the above example, the player would play in the Under 7 competition even though they won't turn 7 until the season is over. It is possible for players to play above or below their correct age groups and you should contact us if you wish for your child to play in another age group.

 Can my child wear tagged boots or only sandshoes?

All players regardless of age can wear boots with moulded tags or sandshoes. It is compulsory however, that all players wear shin pads and have a water bottle for both training and games.

 What uniform does the Club provide?

All new members to the Club will receive a Club Supporters Polo Shirt thanks to one of our major sponsors, Green Light Home Loans. This shirt is to be worn to and from games and other club functions. It is optional at training. The Club also provides a playing shirt for each player however parents are responsible for boots, socks, shin pads and shorts.

 Where can I get my child's socks and shorts?

Due to 3 other clubs in Townsville having green shorts, we recommend that members purchase their shorts and socks from Rebel Sport at Stockland Shopping Centre so as to ensure you purchase the correct shade of green.Remember to show your MVP card for your discount.

 When and where is training?

All training is at Rebels home grounds at Greenwood Park on the corner of Thuringowa and Greenwood Drives, Kirwan. Training times vary (usually 5-6pm) however training days are Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. This is in consultation with the coach and parents/players however, as we have a numerous teams in each age group, if you are unable to train on a Tuesday (for example), you may be able to be placed into a team that trains on a Thursday.

 Where are the games played and when do we start playing?

All junior games are played at Brolga Park at the Murray Sporting Complex on Murray Lyons Cres at Annandale. The first 3 games are on Sundays commencing on 2nd March and then are switched to Saturdays from the 29th March. This is because other sports (cricket, futsul, etc) are still being contested on Saturdays. Start times (kick off) will vary from 8.00am till about 4.30pm.

 How long does the season go for?

The season concludes with a Grand Final Day usually being the last Saturday before the September school holidays start.

 I want to buy my child a ball but didn't know they come in different sizes. What size should I buy?

Players from Under 6 to and including Under 8 use size 3 balls. Players from Under 9 to and including Under 13 use size 4 balls. Players from Under 14 and about use size 5 balls.

 How much does it cost to register?

The 2007 fees for junior players (Under 6 to and including Under 16) is $205 for the season. This is all inclusive and the player will receive the following: Water bottle, end of season break up and presentation day where all players will receive a hamburger, soft drink, ice cream and trophy. New members will also receive a free Club Supporters Polo Shirt. For Colts and Fillies (Under 18) the annual fee is $255 with Senior Fees being $300.
